Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has recently launched its latest VR headset, the Meta Quest 3. The Quest 3 is a standalone device that does not require a PC or a smartphone to operate. It features a sleeker, more comfortable design, a higher resolution display, a faster processor, and new touch controllers. But the most exciting feature of the Quest 3 is its ability to create mixed reality experiences, blending the virtual and the real worlds.
Mixed reality, or MR, is a spectrum of immersive experiences that combine digital content with the physical environment. The Quest 3 has four cameras on the front of the headset that capture the user’s surroundings and create a 3D map of the environment.
